Celebrities Ms Angie Chiu, Dr Stephen Tai, Mr Yu Pang Chun and Ms Elsie Leung Support Oxfam “Designers’ Label Week”

Ms Angie Chiu, Oxfam Ambassador; Dr Stephen Tai, GBS, SBS, JP; Chairman of Four Seas Group; Mr Yu Pang Chun, SBS, JP, Chairman of Hong Kong Mei Zhou Association; Dr Lo Chi Kin, JP, Chair of Oxfam Hong Kong Council; The Hon Elsie Leung, GBM, JP, Council Member of Oxfam Hong Kong and Mr David Hodson, Council Member of Oxfam Hong Kong officiated at the Opening Ceremony of Oxfam Designers’ Label Week today.

In his speech, Dr Lo Chi Kin said that The Oxfam Shop, which had been operating for 36 years, would not have continued to exist today without the support of volunteers and the generous donations from celebrities and the general public. As one of the flagship fundraising events of Oxfam Hong Kong, Oxfam Designers’ Label Week promotes green consumption by offering second-hand or brand new goods at a much lower price. By recycling goods, we minimise damage to the environment, and at the same time, money raised will go to support poor people on their journey towards self-reliance.

Ms Angie Chiu shared her mix-and-match fashion tips.

Held on 22 - 27 July, Oxfam Designers’ Label Week features a range of designer goods donated by celebrities and the public, such as clothing, handbags and shoes. Brands names include LV, Gucci, Chanel, Chloe, Prada, Miu Miu, and Burberry. All items are sold at half the original price. Funds raised will be used on Oxfam Hong Kong’s poverty alleviation, humanitarian relief and advocacy projects.

The Oxfam Shop carries second-hand or brand new fashion, home décor and seasonal items. Prices range from several dollars to a few thousand dollars.
