“We are pleased to announce that AIA will support Oxfam Trailwalker for the next three years. There are still hundreds of millions of people around the world who live in poverty. We hope that through this partnership, we can collectively empower more people to lift themselves out of poverty and become self-reliant,” said Mr. Bernard Charnwut Chan, Chair of the Oxfam Trailwalker Advisory Committee.

Mr. Jacky Chan, Chief Executive Officer of AIA Hong Kong and Macau, said, “Oxfam Trailwalker’s theme of partnership for 2015 coincides with AIA’s brand promise of being ‘The Real Life Company’. Trailwalkers encounter steep valleys and craggy peaks along the way, overcoming challenges with the support of their partners and a firm belief. Similarly, AIA is the partner of its customers on their journey of life in this ever-changing world. Therefore, we are thrilled to be the principal sponsor of this event. To further demonstrate our full support, we are enlisting the mass participation of our staff and financial planners to promote a healthy lifestyle and bring positive change to society.”

About Oxfam Trailwalker
Oxfam Trailwalker (previously called ”Trailwalker”) began in Hong Kong in 1981 as a military training exercise for the elite Queen’s Gurkha Signals Regiment. In 1986, Oxfam Hong Kong was invited to co-organise the event and in the same year the event was open to the public. Along with the retreat of the Gurkhas in 1997, Oxfam Hong Kong took over the event. Through the years, Oxfam Trailwalker has become one of the largest fundraising and hiking events, and will be held in 16 cities in 10 countries including Hong Kong this year.
